Definitely the best book in this series, I’m not giving this 5 stars simply because view spoiler [ I don’t feel comfortable enough with how Weyland and Noah become an item, even though I was convinced to ‘ship them by the end and disliked Druid’s Sword for how little it focused on the two of them. This revelation of his past lives gives weight to support his gradual transformation from outright monster to something more human.

Despite my mild disappointment, I will still read the final book to achie This third installment in Douglass’ ‘Troy Game’ series darkqitch a lot of potential initially, but went downhill about halfway through. Decisions lead to unforeseen consequences, for better or worse, and sometimes we’re aware enough of the reasons for our particular choices that we learn from mistakes or errors in judgment.
I was getting ready to abandon the whole thing, when at about halfway through – the twist! Unknownst to her, when she would have died, Weyland came and, unexpectedly, healed her back. I read this entire third book of The Troy Game series thinking that the series was a trilogy, and that this would conclude the story. Asterion’s sister, Ariadne, reappears as sharp-tongued as ever, revealing that the Labyrinth is now in the parallel universe of Faerie, while the Troy Game itself is incarnate, and still dangerous, in Noah’s daughter, Catling.

Some were surprises to the characters, and some were deceptions by the characters that readers weren’t let in on till well into the story. Unfortunately, the first pages did very little to keep my interest. As Brutus attempts to move forward, he slips into old patterns He moves forward and just as you think he has changed, he falls back into his old reflecting the very real complexities of human patterning and conditioning.

It was a push to finish. I lost so much of the caring I had built up for the character. The Now that these soul travelers arrive is a most unique one.
Time and again the players have come close to victory but each time there is a new wrinkle to stay the fulfillment of power. Cornelia and Genvissa make quite an astonishing discovery about themselves and their history, as do Brutus and Coel. Once again, I feel a bit disappointed about The Troy Game, volume 3. I wouldn’t rec it, not really sure I’m even going to finish the series at this point.
Darkwitchh Douglass hand-holding as we take her journey, the reader is challenged by their own stereotypes and other considerations about these characters making it more fascinating, more real, and genuinely captivating as the series heads to its conclusion. Jimmy and the Crawler.
